Lee McConnell is a multifaceted Artist working across various mediums including illustration, design, animation, painting and sculpture since 2011. His work tells stories of everyday life with subtle twists, messaging and light hearted humour. His use of bold colour throughout gives a sense of euphoria with his subjects drawn from inspiration looking at picture books and watching animated cartoons as a kid. He has since worked with Major Music Festivals like Splendour in the Grass, Big Pineapple, and Grow Your Own. Created cover and tour art for the likes of Jack River, Grinspoon, Peking Duk, and Dune Rats in which he was nominated for Best Cover Art at the 2017 ARIA Awards.
The graphics were inspired by Lee’s first solo exhibition ‘Hypnagogic Tableau’. The body of work concept is to look through a lucid window of space between consciousness and unconsciousness, past and present, technology and nature, and allowing you to experience all the sensory freedom that comes with that space. The piece “Good Dream” was adapted to the Endeavor Ranger snowboard.
